We drive an hour just to have lessons with her.  She knows how to specially cater to each individual child with right balance of encouragement and discipline.

Ren Thompson by far is the best piano teacher for my two boys. She has been teaching my boys since they were 7 and 9 years old. They are now in middle and high school at 12 and 14 years old. Ren knows how to specially cater to each individual child and shows the right balance of encouragement and discipline. Ren knew my boys would be more motivated working towards a goal; and they have been participating in the Certificate of Merit program and now they are at CM level 7. I know this accomplishment will look favorable in my sons college application. 

Thank you Ren for helping shape my sons lives and being a part of their lives. To prove to you how much we love Ren, recently Ren has moved to Carlsbad. It is almost an hour drive for us. As a mother who wants the best, I refused to end our lessons. I love and look forward to the commute for my children’s enjoyment. Thank you Ren!

Never thought about having another piano teacher for our two daughters.  She has an abundance of care and attention – teaching them to love and understand music.

We were lucky to be introduced to Ren 12 years ago and since then never thought about having another piano teacher for our two daughters. She has taught them throughout these years. One of them is a senior student in college now. She started with Ren at the Age of 9 and got to the Advanced Certificate of Merit (CM) level before finishing high school. The younger one stated at age 5 and just finished CM level 4. Ren made a huge impact on their lives by providing abundance of care and attention and teaching them to love and understand music. They have skipped many extra curriculum classes, which we like many other parents dragged them through, but this is the one class they never missed or skipped as they learned something they enjoyed. At times it’s been challenging and hard for them (and it still sometimes is) but when the teacher mixes the knowledge with patience and warmth, care and devotion, all you need to do at home is to remind them to practice their daily piano’s to-do list. We’ve thanked Ren numerous times, when our kids passed their CM or did their bi-annual recitals but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank her one more time for all her efforts and for bringing music to our house.

My daughter has been taking lessons with Ren for almost 10 years, 7 as a participant in the Certificate of Merit program.  Ren is a firm but kind instructor; she has a gift of adapting her level of instruction to my daughter’s various stages of mental and physical growth as I saw her move from elementary to middle and finally to her last couple of years in high school.  Ren encourages my daughter to try various piano genres and supports her school musical endeavors. We have been blessed to have found such a gifted teacher and talented musical artist in Ren.
